Mom & baby groups? [13 Oct 2008|09:15pm]

destinymanifest
I am looking for mom and baby (under 2) groups in the Lakewood, Wheat Ridge, or Arvada areas. Anyone have any info on them? It's becoming apparent that my 8 month old son loves interacting with other kids and I don't really know of anyone in the area with a young baby who is available during the week (I work on the weekends).

Thanks in advance!

Poll on First Language Acquisition [29 Nov 2006|11:51am]

[ mood | hopeful ]

I'm working on a project for my linguistics class, and I'm wondering if anybody out there would be willing to help me out. If you have children that have already learned how to talk, can you follow the links over to my journal to take a poll?

The first poll is for parents who have taught their children spoken English only.

The second poll is for parents who have taught their children spoken English and baby sign language

[At this point, I'm looking for more people to fill out the first poll on parents who have taught they're children spoken English only. If you have experience teaching your child baby sign language, than feel free to fill out the second poll.]

I sincerely appreciate your help with this.

Crossposted.

Last week in response to news that a ticket agent forced a mother off a Freedom Air flight run by Delta Air Lines for breastfeeding on-board, MomsRising put up a petition. In less than a week the petition gathered over 20,000 signatures telling Delta Air Lines that breastfeeding mothers should be supported, as well as supporting the Breastfeeding Promotion Act before Congress
DELTA AIRLINES STATEMENT: "Delta Air Lines supports a mother’s right to breastfeed her baby onboard our aircraft. We regret the decision to remove the passenger from Flight 6160 as it was not in keeping with Delta's high service standards, and we are coordinating with Freedom Airlines to ensure that they deliver the level of service we expect for all of our customers."

NEXT STEPS: Right now, Delta Airlines is contemplating officially supporting the Breastfeeding Promotion Act which is currently before Congress. So please give Delta a call to thank them for taking a strong stand on behalf of breastfeeding mothers, and encourage Delta to actively support the Breastfeeding Promotion Act. Getting more signatures on the petition helps let our leaders know that citizen support is strong.

*To sign the petition (and ask friends to sign on), go to: http://www.momsrising.org/breastfeeding-petition

MomsRising is committed to making it possible for all mothers who want to breastfeed their children to be able to do so. In an effort to build a country that's truly family-friendly, MomsRising supports policies and programs that allow mothers to make that choice—including policies like paid family leave and flexible work options.

Together we’re building a more family-friendly America. Thank you! – The MomsRising Team

I just joined this community in an attempt to make a friend or two... My name is Ashley and i'm a 21 year old new mama to a 9 week old baby boy named Colin. I'm a stay at home mom in Colorado Springs looking to work from home once I find something legit. I lost all but 2 of my "friends" once my pregnancy became known and I get out of the house maybe 2 times a week, and that's just to run a quick errand or two. I'm wicked bored and lonely most of the time and thought maybe this community could help with that!

Hello!

I am a student at Boston University working on a school project (undergrad). We have a developed a new product for babies and we desperately need your help. Please take our survey by clicking on the link below. It will take 5 minutes or less and you would be helping us out more than you believe. It doesn't matter how old your children are, or if you are pregnant right now, anyone can take the survey.

So please help a group of students out and thank you so much in advance for your help!
